  • (Sorry Chicago & NY and every US city that serves great dogs and sâusages). NOLA has em all beat with Dat Dog. I ate here five times trying different sausages and hot dogs two years in a row and the taste buds don't lỉe, it consistantly exceeded my expectations to satisfy my cravings for the food that may not be healthy but it makes me very happy. The whole atmosphere here is great too, daiquaris/the French Quarter. I enjoy gumbo and the other ẽxquisite cuisines that NOLA offers and wonderful places like Court Of Two Sisters but Dat Dog won me over at my first bite of alligator sẳusage with grilled onions and bbq sáuce. (disclaimer: note, Fenway Park The Sâusage Guy, Landsdown St street vender excluded truly the best italian sausages with peppers & onions).

  • Went here tonight after finally arriving for our honeymoon. Food was AWESOME!! I got the etoufee dog and my husband got the son of a saint dog which a portion of proceeds goes to the children’s hospital! So delicious and the staff was very kind and helpful! Definitely recommend making the stop here.

  • This place is AWESOME! You have got to try the alligator sausage, the Rougarou! We also had the Shrimp Rich Boy with popcorn shrimp and horseradish sauce! Flavor explosion! Staff was friendly and the place is colorfully decorated .

  • Dat Dog is a place that is damn good and a reliably fun spot for a meal. The guys working there are super chill, and the eclectic art inside the place makes for a cool, laid-back vibe. They have a great selection of menu items, with a huge variety of unique hotdogs and gourmet sausages. I took a chance and ordered the Chef's Variety, with a special request for an alligator hotdog - it was really good! It was a fun surprise, and all the dogs are made with great quality. A definite tip here is to try the Chef's Variety option. It’s a great way to let the staff surprise you with something inventive and delicious. While not a must-try destination, I can absolutely say this is a super reliable and delicious spot. If you're looking for high-quality, inventive hotdogs and a chill atmosphere, Dat Dog is an excellent choice.

  • Cool staff, good food, great selection, kind of pricey. Sandwich dog and one beer, $50. I also ordered tots that I thought came with it....and there were only like 10 tots. Loved the atmosphere of the staff, music , and art. Got the grilled chicken sandwich and thought it was high on my chicken sandwich list! Quick and even vegetarian options.

  • We got the Chicago dog and the flying pig. Both were great! I thought the fries were way too crispy and oily but the partner liked them. Atmosphere is pretty cool. A few booths and a bar to sit at with lots of alcohol options. The staff is kind of just hanging around, in the way sometimes. But quick to clean up and/ or serve you.

  • This was our first stop in NOLA because it was late and they were open later than most spots. I love that they had vegan options. I had the vegan banger which was good. Etouffe fries were not what I expected. A little crispier than we would’ve liked (and I actually like my fries crispy) My kids eat basic so the lil beefy was a basic hotdog perfect for them. My teenager liked her grilled chicken sandwich. My hubby liked his cheesy bacon ranch fries and rougarou and the local beer jucifer. My mom and youngest daughter said the shrimp was fried too hard so she didn’t eat her poboy. Great service from the guys working there. My family of 6 ate for about $20 a person.

  • I've been here before and loved my food. This recent visit, I brought friends with me and they said they were so glad I recommended this place. The food and drinks are fairly priced. The etoufe dog is my favorite but the rest of the menu is so good and worth a try.
